Celebrate July 4th with lights!

Whether it's the 4th of July, Memorial Day, or a love affair with the Patriots, a simple and easy way to bring patriotic cheer to a room is a string (or two) of lights.

Get the Look!

Instructions

Choose a wall.

Decide how much swag you'd like to see in your light strings. Possibly do this in committee with anyone else who shares your space. Over sodas or cocktails can make this planning even more festive.

Remove shoes.

Install Command Hooks. Alternatively, you could use small nails, fasteners, or cuphooks. If you are working on a metal surface, try a magnetic wreath hanger.

What an easy way to add personality to a room for a party or a Season. We chose to do this project on the wall across from a large front window so it's visible from the street for evening neighborhood walkers.

We're starting to get a reputation. "What will they put up next?"

The Photos

During the day.

After dark, the white command hooks almost disappear.

Isn't this sparkly!

My favorite photo. (The lamp is from IKEA. )

Substituting white lights makes this project a nice way to accent a wall any time of year.

If you try this project, please post your photos in the comments below!

Happy 4th of July, y'all.

If you are throwing a party, be sure to try our spicy pimento cheese.
