DIY: Valentines Lanterns, Containers and Sticky Hearts!

by | Jan 11, 2019

Kick the year off with an easy Valentines project!

Join us for a quick and easy project celebrating Valentine’s Day with materials you should already have on hand with the exception of the Valentines themed clings.

Easy projects like this one make keeping a variety of craft and Christmas mini lights on hand for quick seasonal projects.

Materials

Instructions

Assemble the project supplies!

We used an IKEA lantern and an oversized vase. We found a larger container to accommodate the fun cling that has YOU + ME since it was too big for this lantern.

We found these pretty window clings at the Target One Spot. Easy to find at local hobby and dollar stores as well.

Window Clings

Gently peel off the hearts and messages and smack them on the glass. This should be a freeing experience and not an exercise in super-precision. Have fun and enjoy the process!

Total time for both…. barely 5 minutes.

Add the lights. For the lantern we used a set of white craft lights with on white wire. For the vase, we use a standard set of string lights with 50 bulb on white wire.

Voila! Project complete.

We like these types of projects for lighting our guest bath, an entryway, or a dorm room.

Swap out a set or two of battery lights and these would make great centerpieces for a Valentines party, banquet or event.
