Lighted Ribbon Garland
We love the idea of simple craft projects to add interest to a room. When combined with lights, it’s even better! This easy lighted ribbon garland added a special touch to our Easter decorations. With the color palette we chose, this could easily be adapted to a bridal shower, baby shower or ladies tea or luncheon.
Supplies:
- your choice of light string in any length (We used incandescent mini-lights.)
- 4 colors of coordinating fabric, 1/2 yard each
- fabric scissors
- ruler or cutting mat to measure fabric
Simply fold the piece of fabric in half and cut into 1-inch strips. This will give you long lengths of 1-inch strips. Do this for all 4 colors. Then, cut each long strip of fabric into 8-inch lengths. These will be the strips you use to make the garland – lots and lots of 1-inch by 8-inch strips.
We decided on this order for our garland — pink, cream, green, floral.
Tie a simple knot at the beginning of the light string. Make sure it’s snug. Repeat with remaining colors until the cord is covered. Hang your garland from your mantle, staircase or wall. Plug in and enjoy!
