Don’t hide the battery box! Put it to work

by | Nov 18, 2017

Ever wonder, “What do I do with this battery box?”

We were recently working on a lantern photo shoot in our Inspiration Lab using a standard set of white battery lights that use 2 C batteries. It makes the battery box a little large and harder to hide.

As it turns out, it also makes a GREAT riser to add height to the center of your project.

Here’s the string of lights all jumbled up in a decorative bowl.

Here’s a lovely shot of our small IKEA lantern, the light string and the battery box.

If this were a shelf or a corner, tucking that battery box behind the lantern is a quick and easy “fix”.

But!  What about a wedding tablescape or centerpiece?

We put our heads together. May have stopped for an evening cocktail and realized one of the better places to stage the battery box is UNDER the lantern.

Hallelujah.

This kills two birds with one stone.

  1.  Disguises the batteries.
  2. Give elevation to the lantern which adds visual texture to the entire project.

Then you can just fill in around the lantern to complete your project.

As such……

Be sure to share how you’re hiding the batteries.  #christmaslightsource
